This does look like a bug. At first glance, it looks like we're not handling that datatype correctly, since we can't pass it to ```python ~/Library/Caches/pypoetry/virtualenvs/-x204KUJE-py3.9/lib/python3.9/site-packages/xarray/core/indexing.py in init(self, array, dtype) 1283 dtype_ = array.dtype 1284 else: -> 1285 dtype_ = np.dtype(dtype) # type: ignore[assignment] 1286 self.dtype = dtype 1287 TypeError: Cannot interpret 'interval[float64, right]' as a data type ``` Probably we should interpret anything we can't convert there as an object. We'd definitely take a PR for this. |
