And of course, #5364 doesn’t do anything with test_interpolate_1d[1-x-linear]

Right. But it's somewhat strange that only that test and not all the others fail (which also use scipy.interpolate without importing it directly, e.g. test_interpolate_1d[0-x-linear]), so this could also indicate an issue with your environment.
