Can you clarify one thing in your note.

unlabeled versions of da and db are given "broadcastable" shapes (1, 1000, 100) and (1000, 100)

Is it (1000, 1, 100) as my code seems to return, or, as you said (1, 1000, 100)? Is it deterministic?
