Note that this isn't quite working for Dask distributed yet.

Any ideas of what is not working yet? I spent a fair bit of time wrestling with the distributed write problem earlier this year so can perhaps be of help here.

Also cc @pwolfram who was an early interested party in this LRU cache idea.
