@dcherian Thank you so much for your suggestion. I confirmed that the netCDF4 format is opened properly in the new version of xarray. I will convert all my xarray files into netCDF4 now :)

Ah we don't support pickle for long-term storage. In this case, this release has changed the internal structure of PandasIndex so you can't read the object.

Please use another formmat like netCDF4 or zarr instead.
