I indeed think this is the correct place to discuss this: your use case can probably be implemented by converting to a `Dataset` and then calling [`Dataset.to_array`](https://xarray.pydata.org/en/latest/generated/xarray.Dataset.to_array.html#xarray.Dataset.to_array).
